EXPLORE

Oneroa Village

Oneroa is the largest suburb of Waiheke Island and only 2km from Matiatia wharf.

There are plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants located on the main street for you to enjoy as well as a good selection of delightful specialty shops for you to pick up a Waiheke souvenir.

The main beach below the village is beautiful with a wide stretch of white sand. Further east is a smaller beach called ‘Little Oneroa‘. At low tide it is possible to walk around the rocks in between Little O and Oneroa Beach; there is also a track up over the hill, which takes you between the two beaches.

Allpress Olive Groves

Allpress Olive Groves offers a unique experience that blends the art of olive oil production with the islands' natural beauty.

Visit to sample some of the award-winning extra virgin olive oils that are 100% traceable to Waiheke Island.

Onetangi Beach

Onetangi beach is Waiheke’s longest beach being over 2kms of beautiful white sand it is certainly a must visit. It is popular for surfing, swimming and just relaxing.

When feeling peckish Onetangi has that covered, above Onetangi beach you have plenty of Restaurant/Cafe food choices such as Charlie Farley’s, Three Seven Two and Ki Maha.

Palm Beach

One of the most popular beaches on the northern side of the island. It is considered a safe swimming beach with calm water while the beach itself is a sunny stretch of white sand.

Palm Beach has a fantastic and very safe children’s playground and grassed area with public toilets, gas BBQ, and picnic tables. A second picnic area is located at the eastern end of the beach, under the giant phoenix palms which give the beach it’s name.

It is worth noting that at the western end of the beach there is another small bay separated from the main beach by a small outcrop of rocks. This small bay is frequently used by nudists, and is known as Little Palm.

Getting there by public transport is easy, take the 502 bus which runs in between Matiatia – Palm Beach – Rocky Bay.
